Is Valentine's Day a convenient excuse to erase ill-feelings annually with flowers, chocolates and teddy-bear?

Glassy eyed automatons that neglect their loved ones suddenly spring to life on Valentine's Day and shower gifts on their victims expecting to be forgiven and hugged like a polar bear, a koala bear
and a teddy bear. Is'nt it immature & insane, and about time the geeks get into their heads that matters of the heart do not follow an annual algorithm and are not made up of Gigabytes and RAMs.
