it started about 6 yrs ago. we had this house which had a separate garage in the back yard that was visible from our kitchen window. the dream was that i would see my mom hung in the garage. other times it was that she would get killed by someone in the kitchen. ive also had ones where she gets killed in an accident while going to work. just a couple days ago after not having any dream for 2 yrs. i had one in which she dies while going on a vacation. then today, the dream was that i remembered she had died and i broke down and then i woke up. do these dreams mean anything? i find it wierd that its always and only my mom that it happens to and its disturbing.

Dreams are not entirely random images. There might be certain psychological factors that are predisposing you to having a particular type of dream.

For instance, I have many dreams about my childhood, presumably because it was the happiest time of my life and my brain secretly longs for that period again. Another common of dream of mine involves failing my exams. This is a big fear of mine. When I was a very young child my biggest fear was founding out that my mom had died while I was away at school and so it was only natural for me to dream about this.

I do not believe in dream symbology. That is just pseudoscience. Only you can interupt your own dreams.

Hard to say. Perhaps you are going through a kind of psychic and psychological if not geographical separation anxiety from your mom. I'm not sure how old you are, or how close you are to your mom emotionally or even how close you are in terms of geographical proximity to your mom. But I had one similar dream about my mom about 2 years after I moved out of my parents house and moved 2000 miles away. Perhaps you should go see a Jungian analyst.

The death in a dream of a person you know, is often a sign of your changing relationship to that person. Perhaps you are letting go/need to let go of the apron strings? Maybe you have started evaluating life for yourself in stead of living by your mother´s opinions and beliefs?

How do you feel in the dream? How do you feel when you recall the dream? Those are the most important questions when analyzing a dream. The feelings often tell you more than the images you get, most of the times those are only symbolic.

How is your relationship with your mother?

It might be a good idea to find a therapist you can trust and discuss your thoughts and feelings with them. They might be able to help you with getting to know yourself, your life, your relationships better. Therapy is not for sick people, it is for smart people who want to have more clarity about themselves!

Dreams are simply random electrical impulses that generate in your brain stem. The "movie" that you see when you dream is your brain's attempt to make sense of this activity, often attaching memories or fears to the neural impulses.
