It is in the lease they can do this. But on the form they left me they included late fees and the water bill. If I paid just the rent can I still get my stuff back or do I have to pay the late fees and stuff?

I withheld my rent so I could move to another place after my daughter was sexually assulted,(by my neighbor) they knew this. I had lost my job due to everything so I resigned my lease I had to, no one would approve me for a new place without an income. I got a another job but not in time to get enough money to pay the rent.

i would take that lease to a lawyer because i dont believe that is allowed at least according to judge judy. just call a lawyer and ask if they can look at your lease to make sure you have to pay.

you can take him to court. He CANNOT leagly do that. He has to leagly evict you, which means the courts will order you to pay or be out y a certain date. If you are not out by that day he must legally set your stuff out, Your balance will go on your credit report but he is not allowed to take your stuff. Go today and file in small claims court.

Your lease is a binding contract. It says you owe water and late fees = you owe water and late fees. No stuffy until you pay up.

I don't think the landlord can take your personal property even if it says so in the contract. Not all contracts are legal. That could be criminal, so try the local police department.
