I celebrated my 25th b-day this weekend at a club. We have a lot of fun. I was dancing with everyone that was there since we are all friends. One of my good friends invited some of the people she hangs with, which was cool. I ended up dancing with one of them, I know that there is history between them, but I was just dancing. He was asking questions you know questions that you now realized he is not just dancing with you cause you are the b-day girl. When I noticed she was upset I pulled her to the side and talked. Anyway he asked for my # I gave it to him. Not a big deal I was not planning to mess with him knowing the history. Now they got in a big arguement and he said I initiated everything. I did not. Messing with your friends guys or crushes big no no in my book. I can't make her take sides. I told her she believes whoever she wants.

I don't want to loose her friendship. I know I was wrong by giving my #. What should I do?

I agree with you. Apologize to her and let her know what a jerk he is. He asked you for the number! He didn't have to take it. Then he tries to blame it all on you? He is a liar and not good enough for her. I hope she sees that. Happy belated birthday. Good luck.

I say it was wrong and selfish. There were probably many guys at the club- not just that one. Yes, it's your birthday but that doesn't give you the right to do ANYTHING that makes your friend hurt. You do that to girls you don't know or don't care about, so why should your actions that night make her feel like you think she's anymore important than a stranger.

Sorry to sound harsh...IF you really care about the friendship you're going to have to apologize or she won't ever trust that you know how to interact propoerly with men (past or present) in her life and you may be left out of some very important and special times in the future b/c of that. It's not too late to restore your friendship. Good luck.

He was wrong by asking for your number if he is still seeing her. But why is she upset if the history between her and that guy is really history? We don't 'own' someone we've gone out with, or even married, once those relationships are over they are free to do whatever they want. Either way he lied to cover his azz and that shows him to be a liar and that's a big no no in my book.
You can't do anything to keep her friendship, either shes not over him or shes too possessive, nothing you can do about it now.

O. K. You shouldn't have given him your number if you weren't planning on calling him, but this is a silly arguement. Like men will say "bros before hoes".
Why don't women have the same mentality?

I think you need to accept responsibility. You won't keep her as a friend unless you do. You should have a conversation about this with your friend.
