I don't believe Marijuana leads to harder drugs, the only problem exists when the same people who supply Marijuana are the same people selling Cocaine Heroin.
So the legalisation of Marijuana hash etc, would separate the plant from influences of criminal gangs who are more likely to push harder drugs, so by protecting those citizens who wish to smoke Marijuana, the harder drug problem can hopefully be controlled by isolating the problem from the average Joe of our society.
Real drug addicts don't just build up in numbers, some give up whilst others life gives up, the reason why hard drugs are a growing problem is that young people will always experiment with life mostly with pot, but for most it is just a passing craze, but when there exists the opportunity for harder drugs at such a young and naive stage in life, sadly many young people never get through their passing craze.
That is why I believe Marijuana should be legalised as in Amsterdam in Holland, so the young can be separated from the criminal world via the legalisation of pot.
Another fact about Marijuana is that most smokers of the weed (and I mean only pot) generally are in full time employment, I have known many different kinds of people from varying backgrounds who have smoked pot
There have been research and data gathered showing the links between teenagers smoking Marijuana and the rise in Schizophrenia in young people, yet what these studies have failed to understand is that many young people will confess to taking pot whilst being grilled by an unfamiliar Psychiatrist, yet they seldom confess to the taking or mixing of other drugs such as Amphetamines, alcohol, LSD or Ecstasy, due to their classification .
My main worry and concern is not smoking pot, but why young people feel the need to smoke pot, which is made very obvious when you take a look at our over stressed society.
Before politicans try to find another scape goat for the ill's of society, it would be wiser to find the cause of such ills instead, which might take some soul searching and not just vote searching.

This is a very tough question.
The main reason against legalization is that it psychologically legitimizes the use of pot which I fear will increase the use of pot dramatically.
There are dozens of reasons to support legalization. Too many to list. I think the most compelling reason is that instead of being an intense drain on our government's budgets, pot could be taxed and be a revenue source. We can also deal with the problem much more honestly if it's decriminalized.

Medical science has proven that marijuana use does not automatically lead to the abuse of more potent and dangerous drugs. That said, there are also no legitimate medical uses for pot that cannot be successfully duplicated by legal drugs that already exist.

It should be legalised in all countries,I don't believe it opens the door to harder drugs, people who have never smoked it usually come out with stupid comments like that. It's no more harmful than cigarettes and alcohol yet there are big alcohol problems and cigarette problems so if that's the case cigarettes and alcohol should be banned too.It should be up to the individual.

Pot should be legalized..We need to stop overcrowding our prisons by arresting petty pot dealers, and focus on the drugs that really are a problem. In my opinion if Alcohol is legal, then by all means pot should be.

data is slowly being uncovered that fairly a lot of vehicle crashes and injuries with heavy equipment are being brought about through Marijuana Use. that would placed me off frequently legalising it to initiate. it is besides the undeniable fact that no more beneficial powerful than some prescription drugs so i'd experience free to placed it in that type if it got here in pill form. in reality there is data that Cannabadiol is more beneficial useful than Benzodiazepenes and has a lot less unintentional outcomes. I see no justification for legalising leisure use of Marijuana. The argument that Tobacco and Alcohol are basically as undesirable is a non-starter; we ought to continually be eliminating those, no longer including more beneficial alternatives to the menu. hashish has been shown to specifically reason maximum cancers of the mouth without the presence of tobacco, at the same time as smoked. hashish will be undesirable for persons lower than 21 and there is a few data of extreme psychological complications inclusive of Psychosis arising in those who use tremendous quantities in the previous their mind is completely advanced. I hate respiration in second hand tobacco smoke and that i hate respiration in hashish/marijuana second hand smoke more beneficial. Why ought to i be uncovered to it at the same time as walking down the line? very few suggestions. ..... i trust the authorities ought to on our behalf administration some issues with the intention to keep the regular public secure from others and themselves. it is the way society has continually worked. If the majority voted on your theory i nonetheless trust the authorities would block it in our personal interests, and could be actual to take action. of their personal houses, thats a threat to me, if it grow to be managed, besides the undeniable fact that the temptation will be for persons to take that out onto the streets.

I see nothing bad about pot legalization. harder drugs I'm not so sure of; possibly some kind of controlled distribution like in England.
i enjoy pot better than alcohol; and i think it's safer. governments should only prohibit when there's a proven strong risk of harm.

Legalisation of drugs? Sure, and after the government put all the taxes and stuff on the price, the black market will explode and the traffic will also rise.

Whether legal or not, people are going to continue using. Legalizing may deter pot smokers from getting into harder drugs. I think we should legalize and tax it like crazy, just as they do with tobacco.

Generally I am for the legalization of marijuana and other softer drugs.
However one problem I see is price wars breaking out between organized crime and the legal stuff. The problem hasn't been solved in other words.
