Sending out signals?

I'm a long-time married woman with four grown children who has begun to feel a little guilty about the men in my life. Although I never intentionally set about to do it, through all the years of my marriage I have had close male friends. I suspect that some, if not all, of them may have wanted more than I could offer. I hardly see myself as a temptress, but I've aways had accomplished, attractive men around me. I don't even use makeup, don't flirt, don't chase guys. Maybe sometimes the boundaries got a little blurred, but I never crossed any. I am not slender---not fat either, but buxom--although I never dress in a slutty fashion. Could I somehow be putting out some kind of vibe that attracts these men? And if so, how do I tone it down?

You may be sending out vibes...but not wrong vibes. Apparently you are an easy person to talk to and men can sense that. You probably have an easy-going attitude with a sense of humor and men don't feel threatened by you and enjoy your company and holding conversations with you. There are a lot of women who have men as best friends.

I don't think you have anything at all to be guilty for. I had many male friends, as well, when I was married and it was never a problem. My husband and I trusted each other completely and jealousy was never an issue. As long as you have never crossed the line, then you have nothing to feel badly about. What goes through another person's head is entirely out of your control and therefore their issue to deal with. As long as you're not leading them on, then what they may or may not fantasize about is out of your hands. If there ever comes a time when one, or more, of them makes advances toward you, just be totally open and honest with them, explaining your position and that your relationship is strictly a good friendship and that as long as you are married, it is going to stay that way. Don't worry, be happy!

You sound like a wholsome, nice person with high intelligence. I suspect that people just like being around you. Since you're non-threatening, men probably feel comfortable picking on you.

My best freind (20 years) in the world is a female who sounds a lot like you. I would never cross the line with her, but we've often had some pretty bawdy conversations. We like picking on each other a lot.

Well in my opinion it is ok to have male friends as long as you dont cross the lines. If you are not flirting or acting available when you are not then you dont have anything to worry about. If you feel guilty maybe you should ask your husband if he feels you are doing something to provoke these men.

Here's a real man's opinion. Men are friends to two types of women. Women we use to have sex with and women we want to have sex with.

You could be as ugly as a dog's behind and there will always be a guy budding up to you get so he can get some puddin pie.

That's just how we are.

its nothin you do dear. there are just men out there that admire you from a distance knowing that they can never have it and they understand just having the pleasure of seeing you is enough for them.

You could be just an all around nice person that people are drawn too. Don't read too much into this.
