reason why I ask is because it must be very boring for the person editing to keep adding titles on each episode. Anyone know?

They aren't live, they are added on to the film of each episode. Mind you I'm sure an editor has to do it, and it might be a bit tedious. ;-)

No, of course they're not. The only bits that are live are the continuity announcements (i.e. Now on BBC, Dot Cotton is in for a big surprise as she finds the ghost of Pauline in a tumble dryer, on Eastenders.) The recording of the show includes all of the titles and credits.
