Syria and Iran helping terrorists is just propaganda, to get peoples minds off of iraq and north korea. I say we nuke the middle east but we cant because these pu**ies are to afraid to use them saying its inhumane, well sending 18 year olds to get blown up by roadside bombs is inhumane.

I agree, and neither seems to be interested in being corruption free either, and that is what the American people really want. They have gotten so comfortable blaming each other for all the troubles, neither seems to have any answers to our problems. I really think we need a third party to provide us with real alternatives to these tired two choices.

More importantly, why can't they remember that both are American first? How can any good come from so much hatred between parties? Is this the America you want the world to see? Is this the Greatest Nation in the World? How can the US be taken seriously on the world's stage if all they see of its citizens is blatant hatred and disagreement from within? I realize that the right to free speech is a protected one, but when it is used for this kind of crap, and so obviously not respected when the speech opposes one's own beliefs, why is it a right that you would literally die for?

Its time the US educated itself on the realities of the world and the politics within its own nation...rather than relying on the garbage they see on the 'news'. Do some research, learn from history...then debate - like adults with respect for one another! As it stands, I see nothing but schoolyard bullies and individuals that cannot think for themselves. How will a good leader be elected by a population that acts in this childish way?

Oh I disagree. I think my opinions and values are better than many or even most people's but that doesn't give me the right to beat or oppress them. I believe that one party has higher moral standards but morals are a matter of opinion and upbringing. I must tolerate people with differing views but that doesn't mean I must sale out my own moral standards. The morals of the majority are what our laws should represent (although that is not always the case). I don't agree with gay marriage, abortion, or handouts to people who don't do their best in life and those are some of my values. IMO those values are very moral and should be the norm but if the majority of the country said well lets make gay marriages legal I would deal with it but would not take part in the act.

Because when you want what's best for the country, and you believe very strongly about your values, you tend to defend them strongly.

Example: I believe that the way you help solve the Iraqi problem is to eliminate the influence of Iran and Syria (who happen to be helping the terrorists in Iraq). The Dems think we should be talking to the childlike savages. Do you think we are going to agree on anything?

People seem to be sharply polarized in their political values. The internet is actually part of the problem - it's easier to say any outrageous thing that comes to mind when the people you are addressing are not in the same room (or even the same country). And it doesn't help when people hide behind some ridiculous alias, like Joe_Blow_OU812.

Why can't you realize (as opposed to relize) that everyone's opinion is equally important, rather than "of no value"?

Because every problem in history has been caused by a conservative.

Conservatism's appeal is to base instincts.

Liberals appeal to the intellect.
