Lets see. I dont think that next years schedules are out yet, but we know the fixed games that each team has to play each of the other teams in it's division twice. So the Colts will play the Jaguars, Texans and Titans twice and the Pats will play the Bills, Dolphins and Jets twice. Really it doesnt matter what the regular season schedule is. The Colts still proved they were the best by beating the Ravens, the Pats, and then the best team of the NFC, the Bears. Even if the Colts played a harder schedule, they would still make the playoffs and win games.

Well don't you think they should get the easy way out since they are the Super Bowl Champs Maybe next year the Pats will be ready when it comes to playing a good team like the Colts

Actually based on Strength of Schedule the Oakland Raiders and the Buffalo Bills have the toughest Schedules next year.

The Bills' and Raiders' opponents each had a winning percentage of .539, the Patriots are third (.535).

The schedule is based on a Rotation so there is no conspiracy or anything like that...

Most of the schedule is already set ahead of time. You are going to play everyone in your division twice (that's 6 games). You get the 4 inter-conference games (all from 1 NFC division which is rotated). So that is 10 of the 16 games already set. The remaining 6 will be from your own conference and are suppose to be picked according to you previous record (i.e. 1st place schedules from last year playing 1st place schedules, etc.)

That never matters because you would want to play new orleans if you were in the 2005 season but not for the 2006 season
Would you?

It changes one year a team could be good but the other year they could be bad like the steelers.
Or a team can be real bad but be good the next year like the titans or the saints.

I agree to an extent, but the Pats had a better record. They go by records as to gets the toughest schedule.

Because schedules are based on division record, not playoff record. Seems to be fair as far as I can tell.

the response a few above me is correct...the schedules are made years in advance.
So, it's difficult to hold a team's schedule against them, since they are made so far in advance that it's impossible to tell how difficult this schedule actually is when they make it.
