So basically Conservatives either hate contributing to the sociaety they live in, schools, roads, military, etc.

Or they don't want to pay taxes that a person they hate may get a bit from.

So it's both.

Conservatives don't want to be a part of society. I thought so.

Its principle. The principle being that what you earn is yours and you ought to be able to keep it. The opposite principle is used to support taxes. That being what you earn will be taken from you and given to someone that didn't earn it. Which principle do you think will create a strong productive society and which principle do you think will create a nation of people waiting in line for a handout.

No, the theory with conservatives is that if we cut taxes then businesses will have more money in their pockets.
With that money, business will expand and spend the money on other businesses. Those business with the increased demand will have to hire new workers. So with businesses making more product and more money and with more workers on the payrolls, the govt. will experience an increase in the revenue that they take in.

I believe that it's called the Laffer curve.

Here is the problem. Companies have been firing workers and hiring overseas. Also buying things from other countries to lower their costs. Both of these things don't contribute to the economy. They take money OUT of the economy so that the lower taxes are just really funding some other economy and we don't get the benefit of increased tax revenues.

There is also a question of where we are on the laffer curve. Taxes may actually be low enough right now to where we must increase taxes to increase revenues.

The rich aren't trickling down like they used too

Taxes are necessary, but most of the federal taxes we are paying (and that includes the Social Security payroll taxes) are being spent unConstitutionally.

It's all about being a nation of laws and understanding that the Constitution specifically limited the federal government to only those powers specified in the Constitution and in the Amendments.

The fact remains that nobody has a right or entitlement to my paycheck, to take that money for food, medicine or housing. This is because government has no Constitutional authority to take my money, then give it to other people in this manner.

James Madison, the Father of the Constitution: "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents."

The guy who wrote it says it doesn't allow welfare. Why do you think otherwise?

True conservatives don't hate taxes, we hate taxes that support programs that are unConstitutional. The Constitution gives the federal government very limited powers. We support taxes for these because they are essential to the nation (national defense, common currency, national trade treaties, etc.).

We do not support taxes for programs that are unConstitutional (social programs, environmental programs, etc.). These are supposed to be taken care of by individuals and by the states (as stated explicitly in the Constitution). Note: we are not against the programs themselves, just against the federal government controlling them. If the states want to have those programs, each is free to choose that for themselves.

The question is, why haven't liberals ever read the Constitution?

It is not taxes that most conservatives disagree with. It is the burden that the current level of taxation in this country puts on the average citizen. People can use their money far better than the government.

I don't speak for all conservatives, only myself. I don't mind paying my fair share, because I get a benefit from it, in the way of police and military protection, courts, roads, schools, and all manner of other services. I do object to taxes that benefit only a few people, or those used for frivolous items. Politicians on both sides of the aisle are known for steering porkbarrel projects to their home districts, and that should offend everyone.

I don't mind money spent to help people who are down on their luck, like welfare programs, medical subsidies for the poor, etc. I do object to deadbeats who learn to milk the system, and stay on welfare when they are able to work and jobs are available.

Conservatives have learned the lesson of other socialist states. We learned people work when they, not the government, reaps the rewards. More people working, more people earning, more people paying taxes, lower average taxes per worker.

Liberals seem to think we are the wet nurses of the world.

I like your question. It may seem like the opposite should be true, but a great deal of conservatives with money have an obsession with lack and deprivation. Because of that, they live in fear of being ripped off, taken advantage of, and stripped of the wealth that gives them an illusory sense of power.
Conservatives with money dont have ANY problems with people being heavily taxed. They just want the poor and the middle class to bear the burden.

i don't hate anybody, unless it's people like you. you shouldn't assume things, it makes an *** out of u.

oh and for the record, i object to supporting other people. i can work, so can they. sure there's exceptions. but i look at people i know who have rent that's $18 a month, and they can't save that out of their welfare checks, and i see their new cars, that my taxes bought, and i get very upset. why should i support crackheads?
