The location is great, but I would probably stay somewhere else for your age group. I am a travel agent....I am also a Certified Cancun Specialist....Cancun is my passion....let me help you plan your trip. I know all the best hotels....best clubs....best restaurants....BEST EVERYTHING in Cancun. I take a group of kids each year for Spring Break and Senior Trip. I absolutely love Cancun and everything about it. I am personal friends with most of the managers at the clubs and I know what is safe and what is not. I will answer any questions even if I don't book the trip. For your age group....I would go either Oasis Cancun...Avalon Grand (great entertainment staff at the pool - my personal friends) or Flamingo. Oasis Viva is okay.....walking distance to party center. Flamingo is directly across the street from flamingo plaza, Margaritaville and Pat O'Brien's. Short bus ride to party center. If you have never been....don't miss Coco Bongo, The City, Dady O and Dady Rock, Bulldog, Senor Frogs, Margaritaville (Tues Night) and Pat O'Briens (Wed night). A lot of the kids love Basic, but it is not one of my picks. It is fun, but not like the others. You can e-mail me at sunsationvacations@yahoo.com if you want or need any more information. I really don't think you will be that thrilled with the Krystal.

I went to Cancun to visit various properties after the hurricane damage. Out of 14 hotels, 10 of them I would recommend, 3 of them I wouldn't and 1 absolutely not I felt it was a complete dive. They had an infinity pool, better beach than before and a good location, but so do several other properties.

You guessed it this lone property in the bad of the bad was the NH Krystal Cancun Hotel.

Honestly the Oasis properties I wasn't to impressed with either. I mean I guess they were ok, but I would consider the Barcelo Tucancun. The major downside of this property is the color of the building is an icky burnt orange, but a side from that would be good for a high school trip.

The fact that they rate the hotel at a 4 star is beyond me. I wouldn't give it a 2 star in my opinion for several reasons why, but it's just to many to list. I would not waste my money here as I think you will be sorely disappointed.

It is very inexpensive to get around especially with the bus up and down the strip. So I wouldn't worry to much about the perfect location, I would go with another choice to make the money more well spent.

It is o.k., clean, but not the best. but it is near all the party restaurants and disco´s. I think it is a good place for students

I would say the Oasis chain would be better for your age group, close to all amenties etc.
