I suppose you mean like the garbage of being light years ahead of their peers academically?
What a hateful bunch of trash. Stop projecting. Our home-school team wins our annual Moot Court competitions, our spelling bees, our art contests. Nearly every year.

You mean teaching kids garbage like the crack about columbus being a terrorist? I've heard some good ones, but that, by far is ridiculous. But you would rather they learn that, crap, then actual history? Home schooling is still better than most public schools, becasue as your implying, if the Private schools are for conservative kids, then surely the public schools are for the hippies kids indoctrination. You the schools, that teach America is the worst country on the planet and belief in A Chrisian God is Stupid. So I guess it's fight fire with fire.

It must be very useful garbage!
Home-schooled children routinely score higher on achievement tests than those stuck in the government-run indoctrination centers known as public schools.
Columbus' "armada" did not kill millions of natives. My guess is that "fact" came from a public school education.

MILLIONS of native? Exaggerate much? And don't you think that TERRORIST is a bit of a stretch?
We all have a right to educate or under educate [as you see it] our own children as we see fit. If people don't want their children being taught that Malcolm X was a hero, but that Columbus was an adventurer who discovered the New World, live with it because it is none of your business.

I am not sure about the garbage part, but in a Public School system which freaks out at the slightest hint of God or the Christian Religion, but will teach a 8 year old about gay parents...is filled with garbage too...I really could care less about gay parents, but I should be the one to talk to my 9 and 10 year old about it,not a teacher...I am not gay, like some people are not Christian, so why is it OK to teach one and not the other? But I guess one is a minority and one isn't...so in Liberal minds that is OK...my kids go to public school, but I supplement their education with many time the right answers like...The American Civil Was was not mainly over Slavery...but that is what they teach in the public schools...

"Many conservatives send kids to private schools for their indoctrination and those who can not afford it seem to choose home schooling as an alternative."
Source?
Care to check out the number of "liberals" who send kids to private school ? How about the number of "liberals" who home school their kids?
Give it a go. You might, just might mind you, learn something.

I take offense. My daughter is home schooled and we teach her the real history..exactly why she is home schooled, because I want her to learn truth. She knows that Columbus was not the hero portrayed..and all the others down through history. No glorifying going on here! We have her form her own opinions on the "truths" pushed into our heads at an early age.
And to those that portray homeschoolers as little bratty snots, my daughter would make you double-take with her manners..she was raised to be polite and thoughtful. Two grades ahead - not because I think she's a genius, but because she doesn't have to be dragged down in public school, where teachers spend 2/3 of their time dealing with behaviour issues and disruptions. She progresses at her own rate.

Mustve been absent that day, lol. I didnt know that. Either way,my opinion of Columbus was this: He didnt discover anything. First of all, he though he was in India. Second of all, the natives were already here. How could he claim to have discovered something already found. He did prove his theory that the earth was round, but thats it.

That's usually WHY they home-school their kids. They don't want the kids taught the curriculum they'd learn in school - they want the kids to be taught only what the parents believe. So they limit their child's education under the guise of "enlightening" their kids. Usually, homeschooled kids are obnoxious and unsocialized and walk around with some sense of entitlement and the thought that the world ought to always give them their own way.
What an education.

Its unfortunate that some people feel qualified to deny their kids a real education because of their backwards beliefs. There are however, a lot of home schooled kids getting great educations as well. And, the last time I checked, most mainstream schools were still teaching history FULL TO THE BRIM with errors, and cowardly lies.

Being home-schooled, they can teach their children whatever they want I assume. Although from what I hear it is the schools who tend to portray Columbus in a more favourbale light.
