I am interesting in transferring a message onto a soap bar as a gag gift. I had a friend that used to do this, but I don't speak with her anymore to find out how she did it. I just need a temporary solution to putting printed text on soap; it can wash off, I don't care. Any suggestions on how to do this? I was thinking maybe wax paper might transfer it, but I'm not sure.

I am looking to transfer ACTUAL PRINTED TEXT...so please no smart alec remarks on writing on the soap itself with a Sharpie or scratching it into the soap or whatever.

I used to transfer pictures of roses, into soap bars, I used Mod Podge
it is a glue that you use for decoupage, cut out what you are going to say, but be careful about some markers, some bleed. apply a thin coat of the Podge with a sponge brush, and get a washcloth with hot water, and apply,to soap hold for about 1 min 1 1/2 min. Voila! The podge and heat seal the image, if you are planning to use the soap the image will eventually fall out, though

hmmm... transfer sheets you can buy to print on for like t shirts might work...also if you can do a mirror image of it and get a laser print on a plastic sheet you can probably place it on the soap bar and rub it onto the soap.

What ever method you find, unwrap the soap and put it in a warm dry place (not the bathroom where moisture is often in the air) and let it dry out. soap companies do not let it get all the way dry so that it wears out faster. this will make it difficult to do anything with, no matter the method.

You could try transfers, or stickers?
