Twins are based on the mothers side.. only fraternal twins. though.. idendical twins are just a fluke thing.. so no you don't really have a big chance at twins unless they run on you, your mothers, or grandmothers (so on and so forth) side of the family..

Doesn't raise your chances at all. The genetic component of twins is the tendency to release multiple eggs at ovulation instead of just one. That would have been passed onto you through your genetics and your husband's sperm has nothing to do with it. There are always multiple sperm present, the determining factor is how many eggs there are.
Identical twins happen completely randomly, there is no tendency to run in families.

Both fraternal and identical twins come through the mother's side of the family. In one, two eggs are released from the ovary and in the other a single egg is released but splits after fertilization. Basically, the sperm has nothing to do with it. :)

None. The only type of twins that are genetically determined are fraternal, and it runs on the mom's side, not the dad's.

i think of twins are genetic if its from the mothers factor that's basically what my Dr informed me as quickly as I found out i grew to become into pregnant with twins shes like do you have any on your mothers factor and that i mentioned properly a million set yet there is yet another set on my companions and shes like properly they'd pop out of your mothers factor. Thats till i found out they have been comparable lol so it isnt hereditary basically occurs whilst the egg splits so there continues to be desire for you yet :) yet interestingly they are quite uncommon. there is sixteen instruments of twins for each thousand births in accordance to a e book I truthfully have on twin pregnancies

Sorry, twins are hereditary only on the woman's side and only fraternal twins are hereditary. I have done tons of research on it and my mother is a twin.

Your likelyhood of having twins comes down from your mother or down your maternal bloodline.
