Your xbox is not turning on. The power is there but it's not getting the system going. It's a sign that the unit is failing. Is this an origianl xbox? By that I mean, is this one of the very first ones to come on the market last year? Those units had a flaw in them and they were all failing after so many hours of game play. Mine failed 3 months after I bought it. If it is then it's failed and you can get a new one from Microsoft. just bring it to where you bought it. Don't forget your bill if you still have it.
If it's newer, it might just be your power supply. Try using a friends power supply and see if it works.
On the xbox site there was a lot of info on what to do if this happens. Try disconnecting the power supply from the wall outlet and from the xbox. wait a minute and then plug everything back in.
Either way, your unit is having problems. At this stage it may be unrepairable and you may need to replace something.

Yeah those three rings are called the RROD or Red Rings of Death. It means you xbox probably overheated and died and its broken. if you still under warranty contact Microsoft and they will replace it within a week or so. otherwise your gonna need a new one.

read the manual to it, or go on their website and check it out.
it shouldn't be turning red when you power it up, normally it blinks green because it is locating a wireless controller, but red is different

I think that means that there is something wrong with it. You might want to give the customer service number a call. Good luck.

I think that it is just turning on and it will eventually go off.
