Small sunfish like bluegill and pumpkinseeds. They are often available in stores or bait shops. You can have a pair of pumpkinseeds in a 55. They are very aggressive fish, no tankmates. They like a lot of plants, real or fake. pH anywhere from 5-9 as long as they are acclimated well. Food would be small snails, bloodworms, tubifex worms, cichlid pellets, and so on.

why would you want to cage a wild animal?? That is cruel, and I believe illegal.
go to the pet store, find the meanest, coolest looking fish you can. (I recomend cichilids or oscars) and enjoy...they are the closest to our wild fish you are going to find...although you might need to get a bigger tanks after a while, these fish can grow big! (as will any wild fish you put in there)
