you're actual that that is not any longer technically "stealing" in the experience that it is taking actual sources from the copyright vendors, yet that is not any longer the point. The copyright guidelines supply the author/producer the unique actual to make, distribute or submit their works. The "First Sale" doctrine helps you, as a customer of a lawful reproduction, to promote that reproduction or do away with it in any incorrect way you opt for, provided you do not make the different copies of it (to keep or supply away) or in the different case violate the rights of the copyright vendors. it basically isn't a copyright infringement to exhibit your rented or offered DVD on your kinfolk. The regulation prohibits "public performance or show" of videos without a license, no longer deepest show or performance (the position public means "more beneficial than your kinfolk and close associates"). compared, "filesharing" or torrents contain the distribution and reproduction of recent "copies" without authorization of the copyright vendors. certain, you need to legally record the educate on your DVR or VCR from a television broadcast, yet that is because someone paid for the license to broadcast it. See any large difference yet? Claiming that you need to be in a position to freely "percentage" your reproduction of a DVD with the completed universe is like declaring you need to be in a position to borrow you pal's vehicle and then lease it out to those with none added permission out of your pal. think ofyou've got the "potential" to attempt this, yet you do not have the "authority" of regulation to attempt this and could be sued for damages. I advise you study up on the concept of "first sale doctrine", starting up with 17 USC § 109 in the copyright guidelines.

As far as I know it is illegal unless you have purchased something like Limewire pro, or mp3rocket. Because then the actors/musicians make a small profit because of the copyright.

The big thing right now is piracy with all the actors, singers, etc. I think in their minds if we copy things from the internet, even for our own use, it is illegal because they aren't making money off of it.
