Whatever accent it is that you have, how strong is it?
I have a southern U.S. accent.....it's very heavy. I have a friend from New York who has a hard time understanding me sometimes...but, then again, I have a hard him understanding him also. He has a Brooklyn accent.
Thanks for the answers.

Southern accents vary. You have your Cajun (don't know an example for that), hillbilly (Jeff Foxworthy), redneck (Larry the Cable Guy), and then general southern (along the lines of Paul Deen). I use proper grammar...most of the time anyway, lol.

I have a light, Texas/Irish/German accent, just from living in that part of Texas.

I don't really have an accent, but I tend to pick up on others' accents pretty easily and I use them sometimes. Most of the time I start sounding like a redneck because I've spent so much time in the south in recent years....

I used to have a heavy southern accent, from living in Tennessee, but after about 13 years on the West Coast it pretty much only comes out when I get agitated.

I personally don't think I have an accent however I've been told many times that I have a lovely "Irish accent". My ancestors were Irish but I'm Canadian and I've never been to Ireland so I doont knoooo woot those people are talking aboot.

I live in the UK but yet i happen to have an American accent. I can change my accent from time to time which i do, i can go from really British to American and from there to European, it's annoying getting questions from people asking if im from there but im not. I have been there twice but that is not the reason for my accent.
Have a nice day and thanks for the question.

I don't have a strong accent but you can usually tell I'm not from here. But I do have a strong accent in Spanish bc Cubans are very loud.

I live in rural western NC and I grew up here but I have a very neutral accent. In fact, I get accused of not being a native North Carolinian quite often. (I also speak with correct grammar and word usage...)
You don't know how often I hear...
"Yer not from 'round here, are ye?"

it depends on who i'm around. my whole family is very southern, and it's VERY obvious when they speak, so i pick up thier accent when i'm around them. but when i'm at work or out in public i drop the accent and sound like a general american.
