Amen! I scan the question titles and think, does anyone read REAL works of fiction anymore? (As opposed to entertainment). I would love to have a place to talk about more cerebral topics.

Oh and then Shakespeare and Dante would not be authors and "Les Miserables" would not be a book. I'm sick&tired of Harry Potter and Dan Brown myself;however, I think it a better idea to make a subsection for those two, wouldn't you say?

A nice idea, but impractical. You'd have to define "literature", which would be subjective. And you'd not only have do define it for yourself, but somehow communicate that definition to people who, as earlier mentioned, think Harry Potter is literature.

There are other sites that are more devoted to "literature" that draw a more academic crowd. List_servs as well.

I don't mean this the snotty way it will sound, but maybe YOU are in the wrong place.

Its a good idea, but I doubt that it would change anything... unfortunately there are people who think that Harry Potter counts as literature.

I agree wholeheartedly, but doubt if Yahoo will listen. I also look at the railway questions, where about 75% are queries about services on Indian Railways. We have suggested those be hived off, but no one has taken any notice.

Sounds good to me, why not contact Yahoo and make the suggestion.
