I'm a single dad with a teenage daughter and when she started to have cramps I suggested a warm compress or heating pad in the area. She said that it made her feel better. I also gave her hot tea with honey. This seems to work but what do I know I'm a guy. Feel better!

Period and pregnancy symptoms are almost exactly the same. If you don't have a consistent 28 day cycle but still know when you are ''late'' then Id suggest getting a pregnancy test. Most dollar stores sell them nowadays, they are around 2 bucks. All pregnancy test are pretty much the same, except for the early response kits that test for levels of HCG below 250 mg or 5 days before your missed period. Symptoms don't really increase with pregnancy, but I will tell you this, you will be ungodly tired, not a normal sleepy PMS tired; but dizzy when you stand and vertigo like symptoms. When you are pregnant your body increases blood production almost instantly causing your heart to work harder and pump more blood through your body at a faster rate making you feel fatigued. You will also have implantation bleeding which happens about 2 weeks after unprotected sex. Usually just pink when your wipe after urination and some light spotting, mild cramping. If you start passing blood clots with cramping and diarrhea like symptoms, most likely its your period. If you know the last day of your last period, then count 14 days after that date and that is when you were ovulating, if you had sex a week within that date, from the day you had sex count a week past that date, this is when implantation takes place causing actual pregnancy symptoms. Regardless if you have a regular period or not, it generally takes the same amount of time for a fertilized egg to make it through the fallopian tubes to your uterus. So if you recently had sex, around a week or so ago, not long after you were ovulating, then you should get a test asap.

Hey
I know EXACTLY what your talking about!
Okay first off try some Midol, it takes care of EVERYTHING! i swear u feel like your nat having your period because the cramps, and bolationg and all the pain is ALL gone!
Okay then get a hot water bottle (make sure its not make out of thing plastic! Press it between your hips and your belly button! that helps so much (infact u put it right where your overies are and that helps too)
DO NOT EAT CHOCOLATE OR DRINK ANYTHING WITH CAFFINE! that can make your periods even HEVIER! i know how bad heavy periods are, mine last for about 11 days average for a woman is about 5!
Okay lastsly ask your mom and your doctor about birth control, it can make your periods lighter and maybe last less days
Hope this helps

There is a homeopathic remedy you can get at the health food store called "Monthlies" it works very well for cramps.
Also, using Magnesium for cleansing the bowel just before your period is helpful - sometimes an accumulation of fecal matter in the colon, constipation, will add tension in the physiology causing the cramping. The Magnesium is also good as a muscle relaxant

The only thing that gets rid of my cramps (and I've tried everything) is Nurofen plus. It's a painkiller available over the counter and has ibuprofen. If you can get it wherever you are you should give it a try. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

This is also my first day and like you the first day is also the worst. What I do is wash my pain pills down with a glass of warm milk. It works best with Tylenol, or Aleve especially if Pamprin or Midol don't work for you either. Followed by using a heating pad and lying down.

Midol PMS and taking water pills always work for me. Also, avoid salt and do some moderate exercise (even just walking for 1/2 hour will help.) I hope you feel better.

If you take midol or any type of menstrual relieving woman's med they should help. Plus you need to drink plenty of water to help thin out your blood, this will help the flow lighter and easier, and you will have less cramps.

Laying on a heating pad. On medium heat. Drink hot tea. I know when I was younger, anything cold would make my cramps much worse.

A heating pad works wonders. Thermacare makes heating pads specifically designed for menstraul cramps. You can find them at Wal-Mart, and they are only a few dollars.
