Every president who has sent people to war has sent other people to fight and die. It's a president's job to decide when a war is necessary, and ask Congress to support him on this. It is not a president's job to go out to the front, pick up an M-16 and start shooting.

Presidents don't fight, we the volunteers do. And by the looks of it we on the right have to fight for the weak and scared (USMC 1989-1994)

Our President does not wear a military uniform, unless specifically commanding troops in the field. Even then, he has not worn one since the 18th century. Please, read a history book.

Because he is the commander of the armed forces. You don't send your generals into battle on the front lines. Soldiers look for leaders controlling them, not dying in the battle fields.
