Purely because they care - may not seem like it at the time - cut her some slack - would you rather she bossed you or ignored you and let you do what every you wanted. She cares deaply about you this is the woman who gave birth and fed you and kept you safe for years. She is probably having a hard time adjusting. If you keep her informed and talk to her you may find she hasn't the need to boss!!! Take care and love your mum - you'll only ever have the one!

because they really do know what is better for you, than you do.
Think about it - if you asked a toddler what he wanted for dinner he would reply "sweets", which you know isn't good for him. But that is all toddlers want to eat, so mums have to consider their nutritional requirements and feed them the boring stuff, greens, vegetables, etc, despite thier protests. That's just a small example - your mum really does want you to grow up healthy and sane and educated and ready to face life on your own - that's what parents are for - and to be able to face a life in the future without your parents when they're gone. Also, they've been through what you have been through - school, teenage romance, friends who aren't a good influence - heck, they've been there and made the same mistakes and now, twenty years on, wish they hadn't because they know the consequences. And they want bette rfor you.
So, despite your grumps about your mum being bossy, just try to see her side of things. Imagine what you would want for your daughter ... and you will see what your mum wants for you. She's just trying to keep you on the right path. If she didn't nag it would mean she didn't care.

You may see your mum as bossing you around--but she is not really. She is teaching you basic life skills, teaching you skills you will need to put into practise when you are older, and for when you have boyfriends, a husband, children maybe, for when you leave home. There are certain 'skills' that aren't learnt at school now-(more's the pity!)-but even if they were, there are no finer teachers than your parents to teach these important points to you, because these 'life skills' are handed down from one generation to the next, to help us survive in this world--so that we can hand them down too. So try to see this 'bossing around' as help for you for your future.

It clearly states in the Mums handbook they give you after giving birth that it is part of the job description and personally I take the job very seriously.See if you can pick up yourself a used copy. It's right before the chapter on Nagging and what if they won't pick up their clothes.Good Luck!

As you wil get older you will see that it's not in fact bossing you around, but preparing you for life ahead. Although it may seem as they are bossing you around now, each year that passes, you will understand more and more that it really isn't the case.

because they are so concerned about your safety and whether you do well at school and that you don't get in with the wrong crowd. they honestly do it because they love you, be grateful you have a mum who cares enough to point you in the right direction.
and it doesnt change as you get older - I've been away from home for 7 years and now I like my mum to give me advice on what to do

Your mum is - by law and by common agreement - responsible for you until the age of 18.
She also loves you and wants you to get the best out of life. usually avoiding the pitfalls.
