Com Ed says they NEED to raise our prices for electricity. Don't they get money from the different companies that have them place their advertising inserts in with our utility bills? The amount of inserts in with my bill has increased since they raised our prices!

I am sure they get paid for that. If they did not get that ad money your rates would have to go up even higher.

You pay for any of them that come from a subsidiary or part of Com Ed and other utilities through higher rates. Com Ed gets more money when they can cause you to buy furnaces and other items that use electricity -- so you get higher bills. They tell you on one hand to be energy efficient while on the other hand, charging you more for your efficiency and then promoting more uses of products that use their energy. If they get paid for advertisements then it just pads their profits.

Yes, of course they get paid for it.

If you don't like your bill, it would be higher if they hadn't increased the number of inserts.
