My sister got a new laptop and I've been trying to set up a wifi connection on it.
I know it has a intern WIFI card because it set up on its own the first time (we had to bring it back after).
But now that we got it back the computer doesn't seem to detect the card, is there any way I can make the detection and instalation.

Try openeing My network places, (or click on Network in Control Panel) and then click on the Wireless Network and click File/Enable. Also, if it is internal to the laptop, the Wireless NIC, make sure it is turned on. usually there is an FN+F# key combination for this. It saved battery power to turn off when not in use. Good Luck!

You said "now that we got it back", so from that I'm assuming that you sent the computer off to be repaired.

My guess at what happened is that they cleaned your computer and in the process deleted the drivers for your wireless card. Do you know what kind of wireless card you have in the laptop? If you do then you can go to that manufacturer's website, look for driver downloads, and then download and install the driver that is required for the card that you have. Once you have the correct drivers installed, then Windows should detect the card.

if its a laptop chances are its built in so make sure the wireless button is turned on.. i know toshibas, sony and some other manufacturers have a button on the outside of the laptop that switches the wifi on or off. If thats off, you wont be able to detect wireless signals. If you dont see a button then look on your keyboard, you should be able to turn it on and off this way also, they are usually located on the function keys. Good luck

pull the card out and reinsert it. then it will reload the drivers for it. resetup the connection and all should be good.
