Most of the time these places are not pursued, they are suppose to run an investigation, but the people running these scams are just too fast. I get these emails all the time, the times I reported them I got emails back of the legit companies thanking me for reporting the email spoof. They also went on to say they would email me about when they catch the people responsible, never got another email from any of these companies conforming weather the people got caught or not.

Also you never hear any news stories about these people getting caught so it's pretty much a sure bet they never investigate this to begin with. Just delete the emails, that's all you can really do, or hope to achieve.

Yahoo needs to stick a great big banner at the top of their home page shouting 'WE DO NOT RUN A LOTTERY!' loads of people have had these emails and asked this question over the past week, it's got nothing to do with Yahoo, we all need to make sure no-one ever answers one of these things. If no-one does then the people who send them won't make any money out of them and will stop sending the darned things out!

I've answered this question before, its a scam. Get ride of that mail and make sure there is no personal information left on it. If its a email delete it, If it's a letter sent to you just rid it up or shred it.
