For pro:
We're all animals and we would not like it if there was a hypothetical superior species to us that denied our right to live.

We are all share a common ancestor and just because we have evolved complex thought does not mean we have any greater right to decide what lives and dies.

For con:
As a human race our best interests are in the survival of our selves, so to harm our selves for the protection of animals would not make sense.
