With all the crazy stuff going on like war, homeland surveliace, foreign survelliance, fear, global warming, and consumerism, how long do you think America will be America? The original concept of America is gone, with all the corruption and greed, but I believe that in at least 20 years there will be a revolution or if they get silenced a civil war. Part of me hopes for it because that would facilitate change, but the other is afraid of change. I want to know what you think and decide wether people are awake.

cultures come and go..they mature and die out..they self destruct..they evolve..they flourish and expire. History clearly shows us this.
An average duration of cultures in historic knowledge once was published, but i dont know where to find it now...
I agree with you, ours is close to an apex...
Hopefully we as a species wont destroy our environment,...but, who knows..
humanity has the ability and the potential for doing exactly that.

Every empire has fallen , and so will America. It's just a matter of time. What I see going on now is a CIVIL WAR, and it's America against America. It's the north against the south all over again. For years now the north(meaning democrates) have held on to control since the real civil war. That left a very very sour taste in southerns mouths, and southerns haven't forgotten. Since a republican(southerns) has been in office America has been going more and more down hill. This is because for years the southerns have been looked on as low life by the northerners
(democrates), and now that the southerns have power they are getting back at the northerners. And in the midst of all this bureaucratic turmoil millions of people are dieing.

I think America is far from a revolution...Americans don't really think like that these days. But I do agree with all the crap going on these days, and the original concept being gone......change is needed to try to reflect the original concept in modern times, but if and when that happens I don't know about it turning into a war...

The world leadership is changing, there is no doubt about that. But, let us hope that would be a smooth transfer. The problem would be if American leaders are stupid enough to oppose and resist change in reckless ways that can harm their nation and probably others too. They say that China is the coming King. You can never know: Islamists are growing in strength everywhere in the world. They might just unite somehow and take over. Let's pray that never happens!
