Then why is the temp in my area calls for today a high of 50F and a low of 39. The record high for that day in 1963 is 63F and the low being 27F in 1981! Last year on the same date they recorded 58F as the high and 44F low.

Heck yesterday was 54F high and 45F low. The year before, 58F high and 39F low. Record highs and lows for the that day was 65F in 1963 and 24F in 1982!

Please give us some explaination to this......... scam.

so I'm to think as an elitist?? Can a scientist really take an accurate temp of the WHOLE planet? They would have to take all the local temps and average then out for the next 100 years to get a real accurate and reliable number.

LOL I got a guy that lives in Boston and claims there is no snow and yet another in New York that just said he needs to dig themselves out of 10ft of snow. what the heck LOL

Yes in a football game there is such a thing as turning point. But the score is not the answer everyone is asking but who is going to win regardless of the points. Do you hate the best game of all time also?

Oh my god, it's colder in one guy's area today than the record! That's proof that global warming is a myth!

Seriously - take an hour to read up on the actual effects of global warming because posting ignorant things like that.

about a month ago it was 73 degrees out in boston.

that set an all time record for the hottest it had ever been on that date.

guess how much snow we have on the ground here in boston so far this year - zero.

guess how many times the snow plows have been called out to clear the streets in boston this year - zero.

guess which was the warmest beginning to winter in this region of the nation - the northeast usa.

it was so warm all over the northeast that it impacted oil prices and demand because people were heating their houses less because it was so warm.

you can pretend that this isn't happening, but the reality is that we're leaving a horrible mess for the next generations...

It has been one of the coldest winters in a long time in the East and Southeast, so it is hard to convince people that there is global warming. Check out Neal Boortz' web site where he lists reasons and explanations why global warming is a myth. I am undecided but I believe that if it is real then it is a natural thing. When you look at the age of the earth, there have been numerous temperature changes over the eons.

Listen carefully. The Earth is a very big planet. Local temperatures will not reflect global warming on your block until it is too late to advert it. You will see abrupt changes in weather patterns not necessarily your town thermometer rising in the short term.

Satellite topography shows the slightly shifting weather patterns. Also, the CO2 to air ratio is shooting up like never before. They measured ice cores up to 600,000 years ago and never found CO2 levels such as exist since the industrial age of man.

The most obvious effects are the melting snow-caps at the poles and on the mountains. It is, at the minimum, worth looking into versus denying the possibility.

Global warming does exist, in certain parts of the earth. Total ice mass of the norther cap is less this year than it was in previous years, and this has been a steady decrease for awhile.

However, total ice mass of the southern cap has increased, and has so at a steady pace as well. What you are seeing is the direct result of increased solar radiation, an intensified solar EMF, a changing terran EMF, and a northern magnetic polar shift. At its current pace the northern magnetic pole will be in northern siberia no later than 2050, and no sooner than 2043.

This will cause an increase in northern hemisphere warmth, and cooling in the southern hemishpere. It has happened before, and will happen again.

global warming is gaged by the average temperature of the entire earth

it can't be judged by fluctuations in any one spot

the earth's atmosphere and its atmospheric currents are much more complicated than you seem to think!

its like trying to determine the final result of a football game by watching one player for one random play - maybe this is an analogy you will understand

You have to look at the whole world. Scientists are measuring temperature everywhere, especially ocean temperatures. They are saving millions of readings and looking at them over time to get their facts. You are looking at one place and only comparing temperatures on some days. Using your method, I could demonstrate how cigarette smoking is healthy, or drunk driving is safer than sober driving.
