Start making notes now, then you can revise them when you break up for revision.

Also purchase this book by the world memory champion by Dominic O'Brien, its called "How to Pass Exams". In it he describes a very basic yet ingenius memory aid. I didn't use it for GCSE or A Level (and struggled) but did for my degree's and could remember entire essays using his method.

Its basically creating images along a journey to represent text. Not as complicated as it sounds.

GCSE's are tough (contrary to tabloid belief), you need to sacrifice your personal life for about two or three months and dedicate your every day to them when you revise.

The dividends this will pay back to you in return is astonishing. Most jobs now require minimum 5 GCSEs with grade A-C including maths and english.

Furthermore your GCSE results will determine if you are accepted to college/6th form and what subjects you will take. From here the UCAS points you gain determine how good a university you go to.

In other words GCSE's are the foundation that you will lay for the rest of your life. Take no notice of any doomsayers who say they're easy and worthless. Theyr'e the opposite in fact, don't believe me? Just check out the job centre website and look at all the jobs that require them as a minimum.

Best of luck.

Personally I started when we got exam leave, which started in May I think.... In fact I did most of my revision in the week preceding each exam, as I did with my AS modules last month (in fact that was more the afternoon before). But then I'm just lazy. I did get 8 A*s and 2 As at GCSE though (OK I'm boasting). It depends entirely on how much you know already, how quickly you learn and how much you feel you need to cover. If you are considering started now or next month then that suggests to me that you probably have a lot of work to do, so get cracking! No point putting it off if you have the means and inclination to start now. That's my opinion, hypocritical as ever.

Good luck by the way!

I did mine last year, and i didn't revise at all but i still got an A, 8 B's and a C.... but i regret that as i could have done alot better if i had actually revised! it probs a good idea to do some each night for a short time to keep stuff fresh in the mind.

When ever your in the right frame of mind. I did mines last year but i left mines until the last minute lol. I still got an A, 6 B's and 2 C's. I could have done way better so when you feel it's time to revise just give it a go. It isn't as tough as they make them out to be. Good luck by the way;) x

Yes start now. You've got 2 years of work for 9-12 subjects to fit into 3 months! First of all make a plan (real not "I will do 56 hours of revision a day") and start doing things topic by topic now. Im in Year 10, and I always make notes, so I am prepared, but if you havent got proper notes DEFINATELY start now.

It already shows that your gonna be a hard worker: after all by asking this question it proves your determined and concerned about your education. Start now and do things topic by topic. Goooood Luck!!!

I'm takin mine this year, but i've just dun my mocks and got 7 A*s, 3As and 2 Bs. basically, i think revision shud b done at different times for different circumstances. If u don't know some really crucial bits, revise them now, but if it's just the specifics that need revising, leave it till around Easter 2 start.

the final thank you to make a revision timetable is quite to ascertain how revision fits you. whilst are you maximum lively? in case you do your ultimate paintings interior the morning, then plan your revision for the morning mutually as your ideas is sparkling. comparable if it is interior the nighttime or afternoon. in no way revise for too long. a million/2 hour optimal in step with consultation, and then have a a million/2 hour harm. It breaks up the day and supplies your ideas time to relax. the way I did my revising grew to become into to maintain to my unique college timetable. i'd revise my matters in accordance to as quickly as I generally had the lesson. If i grew to become into generally scheduled for Biology on Monday morning at 9am, then that's as quickly as I revised for it. of course it different--if I had a French examination on would 5th, however the Geography examination grew to become into on June fifteenth, i does no longer revise for Geography till after the French, etc. So prioritise your revision into what tests come first or choose the main paintings. you will detect an internet one in case you p.c., whether that's ultimate in case you intend your revision to wholesome your desires. maximum revision timetables revolve around people who study, study, study, and not all and sundry is like that, so do basically what works best for you.
