almost two weeks ago i went to the dr. for what i believed were contractions, it ended up that i had a UTI so that was why i was feeling contractions or so they said. i have pre term labor issues i have a stitch in my cervix, so i tend to be a little nervous but my question is, is it normal for just my uterus to tighten? are those considered contractions? i know usually your whole tummy would get hard for "real contractions, but this is just my lower region like i said feels like it is just my uterus.
what could that mean? i have a doctors apppointment coming up on friday should i call and be seen before or should i wait. by the way i finished my pills so the UTI should be gone and the tightening happen about every 15 minutes or so.
thanks for any advice i would appriciate it!!

It sounds like you are having Braxton Hicks contractions. I know it seems like it is alittle bit early for those, but it is not. At my 16 week ultra sound we could actually see them happening.
Of course with the problems you have had in the past I would say that a phone call to your doctor wouldn't hurt. The best thing is for you not to get yourself all worked up before you know anything. The stress probably isn't helping things any. When you are stressed your muscles tighten up.

It is most likely BH contractions... That is fairly normal.. I started feeling mine this time at 12 weeks... Definately go to the next appt. and let them know what is going on.. it may be that the uti is not cleared up all the way.. And if left untreated in can cause pre term labor.... just lay down and rest and take it easy for the next few days.. as you should be doing more of that anyways considering your issues with preterm labor... Try not to worry to much.. you are almost over that hump, and once you get past 20 weeks, there is a better chance at survival.... But seriously.. don't stress and take care...

well you should probaby get this checked out seeing as you are at risk for premature labor. However to me it sounds like braxton hicks contractions. best of luck!
