Im 17, and my mom is 38...I am a normal teenager and so i dress liek a normal teenage, liek with hip hugger pants, and sorta tight shirts, but my mom wants to dress like me, so she buys all this clothes just like mine, but in a different color, is this normal for a mom to do? or is it kinda creepy...?

It's not "normal" but it's not uncommon. Some moms just don't know how to dress and they don't really know fashion or trends so their try to dress like their daughters because their daughters always look good and get compliments for the way they dress. Some moms just want to feel young again and if they dress like their daughters they will get that feeling. I think if it bothers you then you need to have a talk with your mom and tell her how you feel. If she is just fashion clueless then offer to take her shopping. If she is having trouble accepting that she's 38 then you need to talk to her and let her know that shes 38 and looks great but she can't dress like you. You need to be an individual and she's copying you. She needs to find her own style. Just tell her in a nice way to get her own clothes and to stop copying you because it bothers you. Good luck and hope that helps.

I think it's normal for a mom that doesn't want her age to show. Consider it a compliment! I don't have a daughter, but I did go thru a phase of wearing clothes made for a teenager when I was her age.

Consider it a compliment. Your mom likes the way you dress, and wants to relate to you better. If it's really bothering you, you should sit down and talk to her; suggest that she bond with you in other ways than clothing. But, there is a plus that you're friends will think she's pretty cool!

If it makes your mom happy, and the clothes look good on her, then I say she should go for it. However, if she doesn't look good in the clothes, she looks like she doesn't fit in them, and it is inappropriate, I would suggest to her nicely that she try to get some more mature looking clothes.

umm if she is getting the exact same clothes, thats kinda creepy yah know if you match... try to pick out clothes you like but for her. She will think they are cool if you like them. Try some elegant motherly stores like Banana republic or something like that.

It's not abnormal for moms to try to hold onto their youth. What your mom should do is shop in the misses department. She can find trendy clothes that are more suited for her age.

My mom is 34 and I'm 17, she dresses really cool but no one really minds cos she looks really young
anyway it's normal for me, but talk to her or whatever

i think it's normal she wants to be cool. so she see's what your wearing and buys the same. I would let her. it would be better than letting her dress like and old lady .

That is strange . well maybe not so strange maybe she just thinks you look cute and wants to look like you . For me that is strange though, my mom would never try to look like me .
