I think the main issue here is trust. They never said a word against terrorist attacks. It was pried from them. I think after the attacks many American people started doing research into the beliefs of Muslims. I think with the same Koran for all this lead to the problem. Also, it always seems the Muslims are in the news blowing things up and killing many. One last thing the USA is made up of many faiths. We should try to live in peace with each other not shoot each other as happened in Washington state.

I do believe that people of MiddleEastern backgrounds are taking a lot of crap from Americans who are ignorant and the media.
Middle Eastern people don't want to be judged based on stereotypes anymore than African Americans or anyone else. A friend just mentioned to me that he did not want to be judged when someone does not even know him. Just look at history and you will realize that our society always makes outcasts of some group. Don't be part of the hype, think for yourself.
Most Americans don't know anything about Middle Eastern culture other than the extreme views they see on the news. (This represents a small group. Think David Koresh or some other extreme American who could be considered a terrorist and had a following, this is only a small part of our population.) And this really applies to any international issues because people like to be spoon fed information, and are too lazy to find out things for themselves.
If you ask the average person they don't know what countries make up the Middle East, they don't realize there are Christians and people of other faiths in a lot of these countries. They don't realize that women in all of these countries do not wear hijab (covers-ups), they don't know there are beaches in the Mid-East, like in Alexandria, Egypt, where women wear bikinis. Middle-Eastern pop music is great, find out about Ehab Tawfik. Learn about Dubai, United Arab Emirates, located in the Persion Gulf, site of our last 'war', and find out about a city that has been built from the ground up and is becoming a more modern and futuristic city than anything we have here in the US.
The media does nothing but promote anti-Middle Eastern and anti-Islam messages and has engrained in people's minds that the words and ideas of Middle East, Muslims, and Islam equal terror and it just isn't true.
As a person partly from a minority group that has always experienced this bias I am intelligent enough to know that the media only focuses on, and exploits 10%, and the most dramatic 10%, of reality. Things are not always what they seem and people allow the media to keep them in a box of perspectives. If you really want to find out about something go on a fact finding mission of your own or just browse the net that is where the real info is at.

No. Matter of fact I see a lot of them doing stuff they use to put people away for. They exist in a bubble. As far as ' hating them with a passion ' ? That's your imagination - or a move to political leveraging. The U.S. is an absolutely substanceless place. The only wait people hate you is one: You directly did something to someone for no reason. Two: It's usually a clandestine government move.
And we all see this ... ALL OF THE TIME.
