i sleep with it open because if someone comes into my house in the middle of the night, i want my dog to hear it and wake me up. I read the crime watch & i keep a weapon under my mattress.

I sleep with it closed but not completely shut. If my kids get up during the night, I don't want the bathroom light or their bedroom light shining in my eyes. I keep it "cracked" in case they have a nightmare, hear a noise, etc. so they can just push it open and they don't have to mess with the doorknob in case they're too scared to open it quickly.

Open..cuz the kids know the house better be on fire or someone requires a trip to the emergency room in order for them to bother us when the door is closed!!

Closed because I have a cat that likes to get up in my face at night..have to keep him out of the bedroom.

Closed. Not sure why we started shutting the door, but I'm sure it was a noise factor.
I read once that it is better to sleep with your door shut in case there is a fire. Slows down the air flow that will fuel the fire I think.

I like to sleep with it closed since i like it to be pitch dark in my room, but if i closed it, my little one would be freaking out and getting into everything, so i have to keep it open so i can hear her when she gets up!
