They hardly broadcast in HD. Yesterday's pro bowl wasn't broadcast in HD, and even though the Super Bowl was, they couldn't keep their cameras clean, so we were constantly watching through a blurred raindrop.
CBS BITES!

I know they broadcasted the Super Bowl in HD, as indicated above, but it was crappy, because they couldn't wipe the lens. The Pro Bowl absolutely was NOT broadcast in HD.

Yes, CBS is garbage. So what if they had the highest bid for the game, the NFL owes it to their fans to broadcast the game on a decent station. PBS would have done a better job than CBS and Shannon Sharpe needs to cut the ebonics out of his commentating.

Oh, man, you know, I'm sorry. Life sounds like it must be really really tough for you.
I watched the superbowl on my tv that I bought back in 1996, using a rooftop antennae, and you are right, I did notice there were rain drops on the camera lens.
Hmm. I wonder why? Was it raining?
Football is a sport! You know, people dealing with adversity.
Sounds like you might be needing some practice.
Sorry, my response is kind of biting, but really, the problems in the world far outweigh high def tv.
In answer to your questions, I don't know why the probowl was not broadcast in high def (I didn't watch it anyways), probably money, it is an expensive service, and CBS makes money on commercials, and the probowl isn't exactly that desirable of an event, so I'm sure that was the reason.
The raindrops? It was raining, and they didn't want to break the camera away from the action to clean it.
You should have noticed that it was cleaned periodically, except for the sky cam, which doesn't include windshield wipers.

Because they were willing to pay more than the other networks. Simple math. Super Bowl + Alot of money = CBS broadcasting it. Thats why they couldnt afford to buy rags to clean the lense's. lol

The game was broadcast in HD.
In fact, all CBS programs are broadcast in HD during prime time which includes sporting events that they cover.

My main complaint would be that they strung it out so long. They could have fit all those fights into 2 hours. Next time I'm going to record it and zap all the b.s. Otherwise, the fights were very good and competitive. For those that maybe never saw MMA before, I think they got a good taste of what it has to offer. Hopefully, this is a trend for MMA becoming mainstream. Time will tell.

I hear ya there. My Chargers' games were often not in HD either. It can't a money issue since Fox isn't as rich as CBS (or so I would assume) yet all of their games were in HD (and usually a "more clear" HD).
Billy -- Phil Simms rocks, he's one of the only commentators who actually knows what he's talking about.

Because its way better the FOX! How can Joe Buck know everything about every sport in the world. I hate Joe Buck and Fox trys to make everything so futuristic. Its lame. I much rather watch a CBS produced superbown then FOX!
Madden sucks too!

They put the big bucks for football. Not sure why they didn't spend some money on shields to keep the lenses clean.
