Physicians Assistant-they can do the same thing as a doctor, except perform surgery. Can sometimes be call a Nurse Practitioner.
Thinking of returning to school to become one myself.

A P. A. is not a doctor, he or she is a physician's assistant. It is comparable to being a nurse practitioner. Most now have masters' degrees. Each one is supervised by a doctor with whom they can consult. They have privileges to write prescriptions for most drugs. They perform many important functions. For example, in the ER, they stitch up lacerations. During surgery, they are often the ones who close incisions. In clinics, they treat routine illnesses.

Probably Physician's Assistant - which means not quite a real doctor. My OB is a PA, so is my regular doctor, I don't think it's terribly uncommon. I do use military healthcare though, so that may make a difference.

Physicians Assistant, my primary care dr is a PA and he has a better bedside manner than the actual dr he works with. I like him better.
