This is not a major issue while it is just the nature of human.
Fans are human & not robots. Not everyone will have the same feeling.
I am Sri Lankan & Ofcoz i want SL to win every match they are playing against but in the meantime i like the stroke playing of Sachin, Shot selection of Ganguly, Effortless sixes of lara, KP, Mr. Cricket, Bevan, Lance Klusner & as per to me the gratest player of both form of cricket is RICKY PONTING.
Although my phenomenal sport personality is SANATH JAYASURIYA, i cant deny the capabilities of Ricky Ponting.
But you cant expect all your five fingers to be with same height.

There are some indians who like people like Jayasuriya and Murali. very much,but the issue is Sri Lanka is performing better than India most of the time although India has a much larger population of cricketers in there country than in Sri lanka..

Indians don't need to support Sri Lankan team. That is Sri Lankan peoples duty to support their team. Otherwise nothing special in it like Pakistan team. Pakistan's case is different - it is not just sports.

I'm a sri lankan and yes i have noted that indians don't like our team.Ok let me ask a question from indians.When there's a cricket match between sri lanka and pakista who do u support???i know some do 4pakistan.They used to support us during mid nineties when arajuna,aravinda were there.
Maybe they don't like our present players.

Who said? We do like Srilankan Team and follow your game well. Like and dislike are comparative emotions. When the Home team battles with Srilanka, it is but natural that more people support the Home team. It will be so when played in your home country also. Good cricket is what we look forward and we are mature enough to see it as a game and not war!!

indians i think like good players of cricket no matter where they are from. whether be it a lara or warne or jayasurya or murali. the swashbuckling cricket of kalu and jayasurya is admired and so is the agressive spin of murali. when srilanka won the world cup lot of indian's cheered the victory. When in India it is likely the host country boys get bulk of the attention. afterall cricket is a gentleman's game and we admire great sportsman.

Agreeed !! Probably they still remember the slaughter in 1996 Semi Finals !!
And moreover Sanath and Murali always performes well against india. Remember Sanath's 189 and 340 (test) and Murali's 7 wicket.

I dont think there is any particular dislike,however when the teams of the sub continent play there is lot of expectation for the home team to win.All the teams in the sub continent are very strong in ther respective home countries & difficult to beat under home conditions.

because sri lanka beat india in world cup 1996.. jaisuriya spinned it all over..this is the reason i dont like sri lanka..its not like they r bad team.. i like indian team more than sri lankan team..as a sports fan..i hate to see lose indian team..do you like indian team??
