Just be there for her! Bring up some things that have happened that were good times and funny make her laugh as much as you can. Or ask her what she feels like doing and your not gonna take no for an answer to get her out to at least take her mind off of it for a little. She'll be fine. Just like I said be there for her listen to what she has to say and respond with funny things to cheer her up. Sorry to hear about her grandmother.

I don't know if anything said really helps, so just try to get her to realize that her grandmother is in a better place. She's not suffering any longer, and that she had for filled her destiny that the good Lord set forth for her. We come to this earth with a destiny to for fill what ever it may be only God knows what it is when com petted than we move on to other journeys. At least that's my beliefs hope that helps.

Send her this poem "Beautiful People"
Beautiful People, There are so few
One has to reason why
They seem to come and go so fast
Too soon they wilt and die
Their gentleness and kindness
Way more than one expects
Their uncompromising Friendship
So hard to accept
They stir up deep emotions
We hide so no one sees
But what we see, is all the things
We know we'd like to be
They shower us with their virtues
Things money just can't buy
They turn and leave us wondering
With thoughts that say Goodbye
Like the flowers that bloom around us
They seem but a fleeting thing
It's up to us to recognize
The goodness that they bring
A sorrow overwhelms us
We know they soon will part
But the memories that they leave us
We'll carry in our hearts

Saying I am sorry is the worse thing to say, everyone says it.. and it is pretty senseless afterall you didn't do anything to their grandmother. If you can find it look for the book The Fall of Freddie the Leaf by Leo Buscaglia it is such a sweet book and talks about death in a very interesting way, adults love it, too.

Reassure her that you are there if she needs to talk and give her your shoulder to cry on. Let her know that dying is part of GODS plan for everyones life. Let her know that her grandma is in a better place in heaven and that she is not suffering anymore. This works because my grandma died two years ago from cancer and my family reassured me and I am now happy my grandma is at peace in the arms of the LORD

There's this old Indian tradition that helps part of the healing process and I hope you don't mind if i suggest this.
Take a few pieces of cork or piece of wood, nail a small paper cup onto the wood. then place a voltive cup candle in it and at dusk you and her set it adrift at the nearest waterway in your area and that's to light grandmas way to the after life so she doesn't have to fear the dark.
Enough of her family and friends do this its a most beautiful site to see and everyone holding and hugging and reminiscing about grandma as she was when she was happy.

Unfortunately there's not a whole lot you can say to make her feel better. Just let her know you will be there for her when/if she wants to talk. You could also tell her how sorry you are and that you willl keep her in your thoughts.

The sad truth is that as much as you want to...there's nothing you or anybody can say to make her feel better. What you can do is help her by just being there and after the tears there's always a ray of sunlight.
