I am currently 38 weeks and 6 days along and I am having severe soreness in my pelvic bone area. It hurts to walk, that's how sore it feels. I am having mild cramping..but the pain in my pelvic area hurts so bad. Should I have any concerns?

This is all normal, and unfortunately there's nothing you can do till the baby comes out.
The good news is, you know the babies head is down, and it's getting close.

The pain you're feeling is the head resting on your pelvic bone.
The pain from walking is more then likely the baby putting more pressure on you due to gravity, and the slight waddle and bounce you have in your step. Again all will go away after delivery; however you just have to wait till then.

As for the mild cramping, you very well could be in labor, but if it's lasting for long periods of time with no breaks, then it's more then like the b/h contractions. (better know as braxin hicks)
I do believe I spelled that right?
Any how its faults labor and it's just a way of your body getting you ready.

If at any time though you don't feel comfortable with what you're feeling pain, soreness, or cramping, then the best thing and ONLY thing you should do is call or go see your Dr.
He/She are the only ones who will be able to tell you what is happening, and what should, or could happen next.

Relax and take the next few days to yourself......
Cause after that bundle of joy is here, you'll be spending all your time taking care of him/her.

Good luck, and CONGRATS!!!!

This could be the tiny ligaments that hold your uterus and pelvic floor stretching- This causes EXTREME pain. Massage can help as long as you see an L.M.T that is specific to pregnancy. I see lots of women who have these same kinds of pain and massage helps. Also just to ease you a bit- I had these pains as well and went to the emergency room- they hurt worse than natural child birth. Good luck.

i have to disagree with other respondents. i have had this pain since my 3rd month with this baby (my 2nd pregnancy). it hurts very bad in my front pelvic bone. ow. especially walking, or going up stairs. my doctor recommended a maternity belt, and then a chiropractor. i am trying to get a referral to a physical therapist to see if i can avoid this getting worse. on a side note, i do remember this happening during my 3rd trimester with my first baby. basically, our ligaments are stretching so the bones are moving, it's all very unstable, and i'm sure your baby's head is also contributing to yours now too. good luck. you are lucky you don't have far to go. i am only 20 wks along :(

I also had this pain. Your baby is probably pounding his or her head on your pelvic bone every time you take a step. This is very painful, and you'll have it until your baby is born. Try to lay down on your side to ease the pain. Best of luck to you!
