Just offer to cook for her more often and just suggest that you think it's unfair that she does it all the time. Or you could take the honesty approach, but it depends how much it would knock her confidence. To be honest you know best - is she the type of girl you could wind up about her cooking being rubbish and you both make a joke of it? Or is she likely to lock herself in the bathroom and refuse to talk to you again because you told her that your dinner both looks and tastes like something you'd find in a public toilet?

Buy her a recipe book with all the ingredients and help her make the food. Take turns in doing the cooking. Don't tell her her cooking is horrible or that will be it, she will not cook again. Make sure you choose easy recipes like spaghetti etc and work your way upwards. We all have to learn somewhere and sometime but it is nice to see you don't want to hurt her feelings.:))))

Perhaps you could suggest some food that you like, and offer to do it together, maybe you could buy her a good cook book, one of the trendy ones, Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver and suggest you both try to follow some of the recipes. Its quite hard to make a mess if you follow the instructions.
You could say that you've bought her the present as you know how much she likes to cook for you.

their is no easy way out when it comes to telling someone they are not good at something. you just have to come out and say it in the most loving way possible, don't lie to them and say it great when it truly isn't. It will hurt them more if you just grin and bare it, and they either figure it out on their own or from someone else. maybe you could suggest taking a cooking class together?

Hi Wannabe Barrister
Lets look at this scenario...
You could have forensic check it out for traces of arsenic
If you want to break it to her gently, then tell her its just a routine exercise
If you have to tell the truth & the whole truth, when faced with the evidence & you tell her bluntly she can't cook
I would then strongly advise you to eat out after that!
Remember, If you find her guilty & she won't go down without a fight

Tread carefully you're in a touchy area.
Are you merely comparing her cooking to Mummy's ?
