I LOVE the tardis (1980's version)- it looks great from the outside and I love the way that it is bigger on the inside.
My other favourite has to be the Millennium Falcon. It is an odd shape and has a real character to it i.e. doesn't always work the way it should.
I also love USS Enterprise D from Star Trek, Voyager and of course The Borg Cube.

While not technically a ship, the crystalline entity from Star Trek - Next Generation has got to be the coolest. Just cool to look at on screen.
But for "real" ships - the mother ship from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.... look at the size of that thing and the complexity inside.
Oh ya - forgot about the alien ships from The 4th of July. You gotta love something that resists nukes.
sooo.... I guess I don't really have a best ship.
oh I know... the trailer on Space Balls.

The Enterprise (Original).
There is just something about the shape that is SO unique and no one has been able to conceptualize anything like that--all other ships look like...ships, that's it.
Also, it seems cozy inside, but so perilously close to the space outside. Kind of flimsy, but you know it will pull through--"Ya gotta," says Scotty.
Oh, the Millenium Falcon is second.
And, if I may, please: While not a "space" ship, you've really got to admire the Seaview from VTTBOTS. Just magnificent!!

Straight from the comics the most awesome ship has to be THE WORLD SHIP OF GALACTUS. TAA II. This baby has it over anything else in sci-fi imagination dept. It took millions of years to build,so big it has planets orbiting it,can be summoned from and to anywhere in the universe, contain the power of the Ultimate Nullifyer..........etc( p.s.) the Ultimate Nullifyer is the best weapon concept in sci-fi,comics also.

I'd have to go for Serenity from 'Firefly' (TV Series) and 'Serenity'(Movie).
I just love the way it can fly in space and in a planets atmosphere. The pilot, 'Wash' flies his ship whilst playing with dinosaurs - who else does that.
I really like the design, the crew - the whole package.

It's tough...My top one would probably have to be the Enterprise-E juss 'cause it's pretty AND kicks butt!
Second would have to be the Andromeda (from Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda) Just because it's sooooo different, yet still sleek...plus, I want a ships avatar like that!! :-D

Any ship from Star Maidens (circa 1976/7) because the Medusan Guards all wore hotpants and platform boots and they still chase me in my dreams.
