Depends on what you mean by "having kids".
One can "have" a kid by adoption. One can even "have" a kid by giving birth without "having" sex. For example, there is artificial insimination, where the sperm of a donar is implanted into the womb of a female. If done at the right time, an egg can be fertilized and a baby begun. Also a sperm and an egg can be fertilized outside of the womb and then implanted within the woman who can then carry it for 9 months and give birth to a baby.

So the answer is "no", a person does not have to have "sex" to have a kid.

NO. There's other ways besides sex, and there are lots of people who do not have the ability to reproduce,
Some heterosexual couples are sterile or have health conditions which prevents them from bearing children without the aid of another person's assistance.
Some gay and lesbian couples have children by using a sperm donor or a surrogate mother.
If a sperm and egg meet and fertilize, it doesn't matter if it happened by sex or by insemination - the baby will still grow and come on out.

yes, people do have to have sex to make babies in the normal way.

There are some ways to have kids without having sex, for example, adoption (getting a kid that someone else has given birth to), or artificial insemination (normally done by doctors), but these are not as common. Don't worry about them for now.

Human Beings cannot procreate unless there is a viable egg and viable sperm. The vast majority of the time, the act of sex is required.

But Artificial Insemination can be used -- no sex required. And there is always Adoption (sex required, but not on your part).

There are different ways to get pregnant. Sex is the most common way, but there are others. The woman can be artifically inseminated with sperm. There are also test tube babies. Where eggs and sperm are incubated in a steral environment. No matter what, you need a woman's egg and a man's sperm to create a baby.

No. There needs to be fertilization of an egg by a sperm to create.

I suppose there could also be an anomally similar to what happened with those animals who began reproducing asexually but those cases are mainly restricted to reptiles as far as I have seen.

Artificial inseminations, invitro-fertilization, even a friend next door and a turkey baster -- all work to enable pregnancy. Sex is completely optional.

Yeah, people have to have sex to have kids.
Unless you adopt a child, then you wouldn't have to have sex.
Also some people have trouble having kids and so they'll get a sperm donor and they'll inject the sperm or something into the girl. If it's done that way then you wouldn't have to have sex.
But yeah, otherwise, yes, you have to have sex!

Nope. All you need is a sperm donor, an egg donor, and a uterus in which to implant a fertilized egg. The woman who carries the child to term does not even need to be the mother.
