You have the right to sell your home without a license. If you were to sell homes as a realtor, homes that are not yours you would need a license. But you are safe. There is a website even where you can list your home forsalebyowner.com. That is where I bought my home.

I know in my state you can sell your own whatever you want to...mother...house....ex-husbands (I wish)....but you do have to report it to the state and federal government, no matter what you have to do that....my state considers it income and so do the feds...do yourself a favor (not to imply that you wouldn't report it), but make sure you do file the necessary papers and pay the applicable taxes, my ex-husband messed with the irs and it was not pretty....they are not kinder and gentler...meaner than ever...watch i will probably get auditted for that!!!!

if you go through a "for sale by owner" company they will provide you with all the paperwork you need. You don't need a license.
