seems quite dumb to send so much money to Israel while our kids starve and lack healthcare.

This is the neocon mind at work though... backwards, in the closet, weird, genetically flawwed, misguided.

It really is disgusting how much money we give that sh!tty little country.

Our Congress supports Israel because of the enormous Lobby here in the States which includes the criminal organization AIPAC who either bribes or blackmails our congress members into voting to give Israel BILLIONS of dollars every year. Those congress members who cannot be bought or blackmailed are vilified and/or marginalized by or Zionist controlled media.

Israel is the top dog in American politics. ISRAEL is determining our foreign policy. ISRAEL is putting us in danger. That little piece of **** country that offers NOTHING is isolating us along with it from the entire rest of the world.

Israel is a leech that has attached itself to our spinal cord and has spread its tentacles into our appendages and is acting as our puppet master. America is SERIOUSLY infected by this Zionist parasite and if we don't rid our selves of it, we will surely die.

Betty'sDad, you are just flat out wrong. The entire operation is a money laundering scheme set up to benefit people who make weapons of war: "Israeli officials are fond of saying that Israel has never defaulted on a loan from the United States. While this is technically true, the CRS report states that from FY 1994 through FY 1998, Israel received $29 billion in waived loans. It is, therefore, reasonable to consider all loans to Israel as generally the same as grants. " ......"The amount of U.S. government loan guarantees to Israel was not included in the above calculations because they have not (yet) cost the United States any money. They are listed as "contingent liabilities"-that is, they would become liabilities to the United States should Israel default. The major loan guarantees were $600 million for housing between 1972 and 1990, the much publicized $10 billion for Soviet Jewish resettlement between 1992 and 1997, and about $5 billion to refinance military loans commercially. Currently, the total U.S. contingent liability for Israeli loans is about $10 billion. "

Well - it has a lot to do with Americans being very tunnel-visioned in the way they think. In considering welfare for our own citizens, what most people think about is their tax dollars, and that American's are supposed to work for their money. They never stop to think about the children, the disabled, etc. When it comes to Israel, that has mostly to do with Christian dogma. Supposedly, we are supposed to support Israel no matter what. In some conservative's minds, Israel can do no wrong. These same people never think about how many of their tax dollars are going there - you know?

And, yes - there are still some intellectuals out here - we aren't all stuck in TV land.

In medicine, Israel has developed radiation-free-breast cancer diagnostic tools, sophisticated heart-pump machinery, advanced acne treatments and the ingestible pill camera.

Israel is also host to the world's largest generic pharmaceutical company, Teva, which allows us to buy non-brand-name and therefore much cheaper drugs.

Israel has made caring for the environment a priority. In the process of converting arid desert into lush forests, Israel was the only country in the world to enter the 21st century with a net gain in trees.

New energy alternatives have been developed in Israel over the past several years, including a massive solar-powered electricity plant built in the Mojave Desert in California.

Because they are quite dumb, like the ones who don't realize that an abortions aren't performed on a nine-month old fetus unless keeping the chid places the woman's wife in immediate danger.

Why should the life of a fetus take priority over the life of an adult who has friends, family, and a place in her community?

Here's a better question.

Why is it that the Americans who are against using our taxes to help our fellow Americans are allowing the President to sign a blank check with that tax money to help Iraqi citizens with the same sort of things they deny American citizens?

"so much money"? A few billion? Hell, we're spending signifcantly more than $1 trillion per year on welfare programs already. And all that spending is unconstitutional. Isn't that enough?
