The post office , take cash in the main post offices, they will exchange at the going current rate free of charge, on your return they will exchange any left over too.

I always get my from the local Post Office. They don't charge any commission on currency. Basically anywhere that doesn't charge commission is good. The worst places are those awful tourist traps which call themselves exchange centres (tons of them in London) but have totally rip off rates. Travel Agents are also a bad place to buy currency because they always charge for it.

I always read that The Post Office or Marks and Spencer are the cheapest and best. Check them out.
