Okay...so I just found I'm pregnant this morning! We've been trying, but only since December. Is getting pregnant quickly a bad sign? I'm trying not to start out my pregnancy worrying, but my sister had a devastating miscarriage and I'm scared of that happening. Also...I haven't had morning sickness (yet!), but I do have a reeeeeeally bad cold. Normal? Any help? Thanks!

Your body doesn't know how long you have been trying to get pregnant, so relax.

People have miscarriages all the time. If you follow your dr's advice, you will do everything you can to avoid one. Most miscarriages are of babies that wouldn't survive if carried to term anyway.

The morning sickness may or may not come. I didn't have any with my first, and only twice with my second. Some people have it all day for 9 months.

A cold should be ok. I was really sick (bad cold/flu) with my second one very early on, and he is fine. Don't take any meds, even over the counter ones. Check with your dr. about Tylenol v. Advil -- I think you are only supposed to take tylenol when you are pregnant. A high fever should be reported to you doc, too.

Congratulations!

Congrats! do not worry about getting pregnant right away, that's wonderful. You will find that you are more prone to colds during your pregnancy - nothing to worry about. Try steaming your face- for added relief add a few drops of Eucalyptus oil to the water. It will break up congestion as you can not take anything really but Tylenol when you are pregnant. Good luck:)

Hubby and I decided with this baby that we wanted to get pregnant at the start of Sept. We found out we were pregnant 2 weeks later. We are now 25 weeks along and our little girl is healthy and happy in there. (I on the other hand am sick.) You are starting your pregnancy how the rest of us moms start our pregnancies. Scared, worried, and knowing it wont change for the rest of our lives. :) I didn't have morning sickness for the first 3 months with my oldest and she is WONDERFUL. No worries. Congrats on the baby and good luck.

getting quick fast is not bad. I got pregnant the very first time we tried with all 3 of my kids. With my first baby I also had a really terrible cold before Ihad even found out I was pregnant and I was just fine and so was my baby. Dont worry about that. You are fine.

I don't think how quickly u become pregnant has anything to do with the risk of miscarriage. We tried for 6 months then got pg and I miscarried a month later so I don't think that really matters

First off, congrats! Also, I would worry if it took you a long time to become pregnant. If you had no problem, then I would say you are okay. And about your cold, it is just a cold and will pass over just like anytime. Good luck!

Getting pregnant quick is a good sign! Be happy and relax. Pregnancy can also cause a stuffy nose. Congratulations!
