You can purchase movies at ITunes. There is even computer software to convert your movies to ipod format.

Well, considering you have an iPod video, you have to buy the videos from iTunes. If you want to put your videos on that you already own like dvds, it is technically illegal to do so. It IS legal to back them up, but illegal to put them on the iPod.
What you have to do is get software that will convert the video files from your dvds into an iPod file. Then you can just drag that file into iTunes and then drag it onto your iPod like you would with songs.
If you want to put videos on your iPod from the internet like Google Video for instance, you need to download it in an iPod format. For Google Video, on the right of the video player will be the download button and a dropdown list. Click the dropdown list and select PSP/iPod format and then download the file. Then drag it into iTunes.

put the ipod into the computer and look at the way you set it up. you might just need to change the rules of the ipod and say it to do it automaticly
