Unfortunately not enough of a chance, for many reasons. As much as I wish we were ready for a black president, I still think there is too much of a racial bias in this country for the "white president". I dont see how a black president could come right after the "good ol' boy" one we have now (and I do NOT feel he is good by any means). The states in the south will kill Obama in the polls. I am not sure how long it will be before we can come together as a nation and vote based on the REAL issues a president addresses and not ob personal bias. There are too many Americans that are racist (in my opinion of course) to get past the color of his skin and vote for what he stands for.

I, personally, would LOVE to see this man in the Oval Office, but I just dont see the nation as a WHOLE prepared to put him there.

Or a woman, for that matter.

Right now there are only polls pitting him against fellow Democrats and this was before his official announcement. I honestly don't know what his chances are but I really hope they will be good. We need a change and we have seen what Washington insiders have done so far, Bush tried to claim he had not been one but he had his Dad's support so in essence he was an insider.
Be that as it may, it will depend largely on his platform and his appeal to the masses of all colors and parties. I just keep thinking that our international prestige is in the toilet, every man woman and child in this country currently owes over 28,974.44 towards servicing the debt this current president has run up. There had been no checks and balances. We need a change and the old guard has got to go. To me that includes any possible Bush, Giuliani, Clinton, Hunter, Biden et al who have made rumblings of running.

I think he would have a better chance if he was more seasoned in politics. I for one would vote for him, unfortunately the older generations, which make up 60% of the US population will vote along the lines of experience which he lacks. Im not saying he couldn't do the job I think he could with the right men around him. He has alot better chance than Hillary, she'll never get elected.

I'm rooting for him, but Its a hard call until primaries. For now, he's only running for the opportunity to run as president. If he doesn't win the primaries then his chance is clearly zilch. If he wins, it still depends on the strength of his opponent. As someone who has only junior senator status under his belt, its hardly a slam dunk no matter how charismatic he is.

Very little chance in a country such as the US. This does not reflect on him but leaves a nasty taste in the mouth about American civic attitude.

Sounds good but unlikely to happen. Too many rich, powerful whites up against him.
