I have a 1996 Chevrolet C3500 V-8. My rear axle split...and I was informed that a whole new rear would probably be the best route. I have no clue as to where I might start looking, such as websites, searchtips, etc..... I am in South Texas..Thanks.

I own a shop, and get confronted with problems like this all the time. What we do is call a junkyard that is hooked to the "Hot Line", and they can locate you one, and have a price to get it to you within a matter of a few hours, depending on how hard it is to find. There may be one real close to you, and you would never know it without the Hot line circuit. Most all junkyards belong to this if they are any size at all.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Donna, Run through your phone book and find automotive salvage yards there should be many in your area. Call any yard and ask if they have one. You can also request that they run your information on their computer to find one in another location. If they strike gold for you it will be shipped to the local yard for you. You could ask your Chevrolet dealer if they know of a reliable location for used parts.
