I have one right now. I had surgery to have a duct removed but the lump never went away and the bloody discharge continued so another biopsy was done. Those results also said no cancer. I was extremely nervous (and still am in the back of my mind), I think I became a cancer phobic when it all started, lol. The majority of these, as you know from reading so much, are benign so try not to worry (it won't change anything, only add stress and that's not good for your body). Good luck!

First, having a fibroadenoma does not increase your risk of breast cancer.
Second, your aunt having breast cancer does not increase your risk much. (Although a complete family history is something to review with your doctor.)
Third, if you are really that anxious about the lump, you could have a biopsy for reassurance if nothing else. You could have a needle biopsy or an excisional biopsy.

A fine needle aspiration can be done in the office if the lump is easy to feel. If the cells are consistent with a fibroadenoma this is highly reliable. However, getting cells out of a fibroadenoma can be difficult, so a non-diagnostic aspiration is possible.

A core needle biopsy can also be done. A small piece(s) of tissue is remove and can be reliably evaluated. This procedure is a little more uncomfortable than fine needle aspiration.

Lastly, you could have the lump removed with an excisional biopsy. This would get rid of the lump but leave you a scar, and would be the most uncomfortable of the options.

Normally, with breast lumps you should first consider family history of breast cancer, age of onset, and factors like movability of the lump, soft or hard, etc.
Fibroadenomas are normal in young people and doesn't warrant removal if followed closely.
The most important point is to follow it up closely and just relax, if it was to be cancerous it will most likey occur in your 40s and you will most likely catch it early enough to treat it before spreading....worst case scenario.

Relax and enjoy life.

I have had a fibroadenoma for over five years. It has done nothing. The internet is full of the worst-case scenarios, don't let them scare you! Mine has just laid there contentedly for many years.

My mother has had two benign lumps removed from her breasts. So long as you keep a close watch on things and see your doc as ordered your should be fine.
