When I got to the bottom of the famous stairs i noticed that there was a donky service to the top. Because it was so hot and i had to wear my jeans because my legs were burnt , I thought it would be a good idea to use the service which only cost 3 dinar (4 Dollars). When i got to the man, he got my donkey. the donkey looked pretty small but he assured me the donkey is fine and strong. I mounted the donkey and proceeded to ascecnd the stairs. When we were about a quater of the way up, i noticed that the donkey was starting to struggle a little bit. But the man just kept on yelling at the donkey when ever it slowed. When we were 3 quaters of the way there the donkey actually collapesed to its knees. At this point I knew the donkey was really struggling with the sweat of the donkey on my levis. i was about to get off but the man would not let me . he just yelled at it till it got back up and brought me to the top. how cruel is this? should there be action taken against this?

Are you very heavy? The reason why I am asking is because donkeys can carry an awful lot.
I am very sad after reading your question. The owner will be paying a karmic debt to the donkey no doubt. The owner should have told you how to keep yourself balanced on the donkey ( how to distribute your weight) so the poor beast will not have to continually adjust his center of gravity when you stand tall in the saddle if you were riding a horse. Big difference in riding stance, especially if you are heavier.
Also it would have helped if you made the decision to command the owner to get you a bigger donkey.

Two wrongs dont make a right. You were part of the decision making and you knew better.

You mean you where fully aware the donkey was struggling and are now asking us that some thing should be done about it, you should have done something then, like paying the man to give the donkey a rest, not meekly sit there while the poor animal was beaten to take you further, I hope you can sleep at night.

Poor donkey.....I wouldnt have even gotten on the donkey in the first place....Why would anyone expect a donkey to climb stairs when obviously it should be climbing up the mountain sides in its natural habitat....Whether the man would let you get off or not ...you could of said noooooooo before you decided to get on in the first place......People like the owner of this donkey obviously are living on money from tourists who are paying to ride these poor animals. If people stopped riding them then they would stop using them..

it is generally accepted in the UK that donkeys shouldn't carry more than 8 stone. Look at the Brooke Hospital for Animals web site for more information, they do a lot of work in place like Cairo & Jordan to protect working animals like these donkeys.

Thats horrible - you should complain! As a general rule you shouldn't ride a donkey if you weigh over 8 stone.
